I just did my first DIY spring install....it didnt go very well. The sportlines I put on my stock struts dont fit back in the area I took my stocks out of. To get them in I decided to separate the ball joint from the control arm? in order to open up some room...in doing so I striped both upper ball joints and ruined the thread on them. I need to know if the A arm on the 6th gen has removable ball joints or if they are welded to the a arm. Any help is greatly appreciated.
for my 4th gen, it was $200 for only one upper in the front. I don't know how much it will be for you, but that should give you a rough idea how much it will cost to fix it. Did you use a spring compressor when you installed them? I ended up taking my springs to a local alignment place for the install to avoid the problems you are having. It was only about $300. You might wanna bite the bullet and have them install the springs/camber kit and align it while they are fixing the ball joints/control arms.
no press on lower ball joint, here my trick take the knuckle completely off, remove the snap ring and bang it out, your going to replace anyways and than just tap the other one in .....works fine so far just my 2 cents
might as well get the ingalls adjustable upper control arms.....they come with ball joints too!
