Default Plz Post Good Car Care Tips

Hmm... I'm a noobie about cars, so can you guys just post some advice on how to take good care of my car. I learned that if you park outside a lot you should wax your car now and then.

Thanks buds!

Do you want detailing tips or maintenence tips?

Maintenence:

Change your oil and filter every 3,000 miles.
Change your spark plugs every 10,000 miles.
Adjust your valves every 10,000 miles.
Run Seafoam every 10,000 miles.
Change your Ignition wires every 50,000 miles.
Change your timing belt every 90,000 miles.
Change your water pump every 90,000 miles.
Flush your coolant every 15,000 miles.
Check for any leaks under your car every week.

Detailing:

I can care less. I wash my car once a week.

If you drive a stock civic, or NEAR stock civic do yourself a favor:

Change your oil every 6 months or 7500 miles. That 3000 Mile rule is over and done with, it was invented in the 50's. Oil and motors have come a very very long way since then. Save yourself some money. Check your civic manuals they even recomend 7500 miles, and the manuls play it very safe. Of course oil companys keep this 3000 mile rule alive and in your face for oblivious reasons.

Spark plugs (especially if your stock) only need to be changed every 30-40K depending on the plug.

If you are boosted or running a serious cam (s), then change it every 3-4K
