Does anyone here know what a performance brake pad is? AEM is BARELY any better than the OEM's. It's quite literally almost the same compound as stock. It's fine for the street as it still does very well cold, but not "great great stoppin power." There's MUCH better pads for the money if you're looking for performance.
i got the upgraded rotors 2 big improvement at high speeds if u i guess hawk or axxis ultimate if u got 2 weeks to wait for the companies to get them in stock for a non vtec model
im running axxis ultimates and powerslot slotted rotors. waiting for my calipers.
i think its the best setup. i have had AEM pads and they dusted up everything quick. i also tried EBC same result plus they were worse, didnt last long at all. yes i also seeded them all properly.
im going to try hawk pads next.
i also do many auto x events a months. so these pads are really getting a beating.

i had the aem pads for my first time upgrading brakes.. and well they cracked. right down the center, both of them.. i didnt notice any better stopping power, but i did notice that they didnt stop well when cold
that is nice to know
oh well at least i got the upgrade auto zones on the back i dont know if it was the rotors or what but i can really tell a big difference cause i think i had the cheap auto zone pads on f/r before bought the car like that

I wouldn't. I just pulled off a set of Hawk HP+s that lasted me 2 months. I called Hawk about it, and they did not seem all that interested.
I have the Cobalt GTSs on my car now, and I like them even better than the Hawk HP+s, and I think they are more quiet as well.
The temperature range on the GTSs are 75-900 degrees, and the VRs are 350-1550 degrees. The VRs broke like a champ the whole day at Hallett. 3 hours of hard braking, and they never faded once, and I didn't notice a single gain in pedal travel all day.
Check out http://www.cobaltfriction.com, send them an e-mail telling them what you plan on doing with your car (DD, AutoX, Track, All of the Above), and they'll hook you up with a good setup.
PS - I have a dedicated set of rotors for the VRs, so I don't chew up my DD/AutoX rotors.
