i'm planning on getting rid of my sohc zc in favor of a dohc zc soon. i have some misc turbo parts, but have decided to scrap the homemade turbo project in favor of daily driver reliability.

i'm not looking for serious power, but some extra zip over the sohc zc would be nice.

i have been researching a little bit at homemadeturbo.com and also at the zc resource. looking for some honest h-tech opinions as well on this setup.

so for a daily driven dohc zc, with a little extra oomph every now and then, what do you guys think of a mild 50 shot of nitrous on the dohc zc? any experience with this? also, i'm keeping price in mind...and would love to hear opinions on best prices and also advantages of wet or dry kits from your OWN experience.

what kind of 1/4 mile times should i expect? i'm assuming around mid 14's? i know that there are too many variables to give a specific answer to this, but some opinions would always be welcomed.

car is 89 crx si, gutted.

 

i might also add that i plan on keeping the dohc zc stock internally. don't have much cash flow right now.

 

wet kit is much safer than a dry kit on a stock motor

 

i've heard you can do up to a 75 shot on a stock ZC..but a 50 would be safer. Someone on here told me that the 75 shot on a DOHC ZC will shave off about a second.

 

cool. keep the info comin guys! one more question. my car is gutted...where would the bottle go? how could i hide it? any ideas?

i was thinking about that on my car. And i think that putting it right behind the passanger seat would kinda hide it. maybe put a carpet over it

yeah, i'm kinda puzzled. i don't want it just chillin in plain view.

 

I ran a fifty shot on my ZC...it felt hella good...this was the first time i shot nitrous..on street tires i hit a 9.1 in the eighth mile..equals to about a mid to low 14 maybe high thirteen on slicks....single fogger NX kit works bomb..

 

i have the sneeky pete system on my dohc zc, it came with 3 jet a 20 shot, 25 shot and a 35 shot but the pipe was so small i just left out the jet so i am running like a 50-55 shot i have the whole kit hide i told a friend i had nos and said if you can find more that one part of it i will give you $50 no joke, all he found was the activation swith

the bottle is beside the battery and radater
the activation swith is in the door hand - that little chang or handel thing
and my swicth to spray is the on you use to spray washer fuild on the windsheild

all i can really say is its hella fun but i have to drive a good 30-45 min away to get it refilled.
