After maybe two weeks of dealing with random BS, I finally have everything together, and boy is it fun
A few thoughts:
- Running open header for a week and a half, you actually get used to it...but that might just be that you've permanently lost some hearing and so NOTHING is as loud as it used to be. You've probably also killed half of your brain cells breathing all the non-catalyzed exhaust fumes.
- The stock exhaust system, whenever you choose to remove it (note: whenever, not "if"), should not be thrown around in a fury while yelling obscenities concerning the rusted-together bolts and nuts if you want to use it again...
- Don't put your nice blingy Toda header on with the donut collector gasket but no exhaust and then go driving around...or you'll have to visit the Honda dealer to get an S2000 donut collector gasket (which does work by the way, thanks all who suggested it
)
- Toda header + Fujitsubo RM01A = AWESOME power, sound, look, and fitment.
I feel like I should tune the car now, as VTEC sort of seems too high. It's engaging at the correct stock point, but the powerband seems like it wants to be on the big cam lobes earlier. Luckily, Hondata is sort of on the way, meaning I'm gathering parts now (have an S100, P06 to be converted/socketed by Kenji, and will be picking up a conversion harness).
Pics will be up maybe tomorrow when I can get a camera. Dustin might even help me get a video clip

Nice setup man, congrats. That's exactly the same i noticed after installing my Hytech system, now the VTEC x-over is set @4500 and i gained 12-15whp in the midrange (4,5k-6k) and 13whp at peak. Car is now much more fun to drive thanks to the fact i can change up @ 7k and be in VTEC
Get it tuned and you'll be amazed at the gains that can be had with a good header and exhaust.

Thanks all, hopefully I'll have that clip and some pics tonight. As for price, I got the header for $800 and the exhaust for $450. I had won the test pipe at last year's ITR Expo, so that didn't cost anything, and the SMSP cat was $50, though I have to modify it before it'll fit.
By the way, big
to Misfit and JeffS for selling me their stuff and getting it to me quickly.
Pondus, are you using Hondata, or something else?

I´m also thinking of this setup but it´ll be a tough and most of all
expensive to get this stuff here to Germany :/

Will do Steve. I honestly kinda miss the open-header sound...but the Fuji sound is great too, just not as raw and race-car-y
As for the video, the weather totally blows tonight, so the vid will have to wait until tomorrow or something, but it'll definitely come up.

Second vid up
As for smoothness, it feels really smooth, though VTEC hits pretty hard. I really can't wait to get it tuned, but even untuned it feels great. I could absolutely drive it like this every day.

running open header with no support at the bottom of header will also crack it, seen it happen with spoon and toda headers.

We were gonna do that, but couldn't find a good place today. Saturday I should be able to find somewhere.
