Default Welding stainless steel...

I was wondering what kind of wire and heat settings I should use for welding my t-304 stainless steel exhaust. I have never welded on this material before. Thanks.

I dont care if the welds rust, they are under the car. I have a wire feed MIG, its as thick as most exhausts my guess is .050

Can you use an Arc welder to weld stainless steel 306 grade to mild steel? Eg. for a stainless muffler?

You want to put the welder on the low setting or lower than half so you dont blow holes in the material. I keep mine on about 4.5 on a scale to 10 when i weld thin wall stainless. I hope this helps.

you'll have to play with the speed based on the gas and materials thickness. Use straight argon, 304 wire will work. Is this MIG or TIG?
(I assume MIG)
