Default Should I deal, when is a 6-puck needed. Help before makin mistake....

Ok, well here is the deal. A friend of mine wants my street disc out of my car. It seen the normal beatings and no riding the clutch. My setup right now is a 400whp integra. I dont want to be making a mistake and spending more money.

Should I sell it to him and get a 6-puck? What are my advantages and disadvantages wtih this? I dont have to drive the car everyday, but who can resist a boosted car . Also I have a Xtreme ACT clutch...

I am running an ACT 6puck w/extreme pressure plate. I drive the car a lot (way more than I should) and really have no problem. It is like any other clutch, once you get used to it, it comes natural to you.

BTW, I would stay away from 6 pucks with an aluminum flywheel, wine is warping more everytime I drive it. I have seen this on numerous 6puck/alum flywheel combos around my way.

for 6 puck

Im personally trying to stay away from a 6 puck. Im gonna go with the RPS street disc. Holds like 440 lb/tq so its gonna probably last awhile on my car..

the act flywheel is forged chromoly steel.

I run an act 6 puck and I have to agree that it's not bad once your used to it.

I have the action 2md (6 puck unsprung), and I use my car for daily driving. I am pretty used to it, and even though it's unsprung, I can engage it semi-smoothly. Sometimes when I'm tired and not paying attention, I let the clutch up a tiny bit too much and BAM! The car stalls. So it's really touchy, but I love the holding power of it...

I was thinking about a ACT 6-puck. Are those unsprung or sprung? What is the difference???

this wont help your decision on 6-puck versus full face disk, but if you do decide to get a new clutch, check out clutch specialties and save yourself some money.

act is unsprung. The real world deference is that you no longer have the part of the disc that accounts for more the 1/2 of clutch failures It might be a little rougher on your tranny though. I'm d series so I really don't care since I can get a new tranny for less than half the $ of an ACT clutch.

Can I mix and match? Like my Act clutch with a ex: Centerforce 6 puck?
