H22a wiring
I have an h23a and I am swapping in an h22a and I need to know about the wiring in the engine such as I have a couple connectors that I dont have a place to put them and how to add wires to the harness to make it work?
thank you very
but I am not that educated on this whole topic so please don't get angry with me but the engine harness the one that is by the fuel rail, correct or not? with a couple connectors on it?

I made my F22A1 chassis harness work with my H22A engine harness. You can flip up the pin holders on the ECU plugs and pull the pins then rearange them the way they need to go.
With the extra wires I had to run down, I used wires from the cut harness that came with my swap; VTEC green/yellow, Knock sensor red/blue, a pink one and a light blue one. Then ran the wires from the engine bay throught the fire wall and buttconnected them at the cut points.
My car has been running strong for over a year.

Hey if it is not to much to ask
I would like to give you a call tommorrow sometime when I am working on the car and you could guide me through it if you could or wanted to that is. If so that would be greatly appreciated.

I would help you out but school starts for me and I work right after. I had no experience in wiring either and I got it figured out in about three hours. Trust me, anyone can do it. Its more intimidating than difficult.
Do you have the cut wires from the harness that came with you swap? I used the plugs on there as a reference. You can flip up the top of the plug that holds the ECU pins with a flat head screwdriver. Then pull them carefully and place them in your existing harness. Then you can run a wire from the engine bay, through the firewall and down to the ECU and buttconnect them.
BTW, I have heard SI's from 93 on are already wired for VTEC cause that was the year that they started over here. If not I believe you only have to run two or three wires down to the ECU. I think H23's are already equiped with a knock sensor.
Does your H22A have a harness on it already? If so leave it on there and work from the plugs running down to your firewall.
To run the Wires down to the ECU: remove your fusebox, cut the tape around the rubber grommet, Get a metal coat hanger and make it a rod, tape the wire to the coat hanger, push it through the rubber grommet, go into your car and reach under the glovebox and pull the hanger down, then untape it and butt connect it to what it needs to be connected to. That is the way I did it, I'm sure some else has a better technique, but it worked for me. Make sure your wire is too long so you can cut it to the right length after you run it throught the fire wall.
Good luck, if you are still having trouble I am pretty much free on tuesday. But monday I have a 13 hour day of classes and work.
I really suck at wording things so if you have any specific questions about any of that PM me.

You don't have to cut anything or do anything like the guy with the f22 had to do if you're running the h23 wiring harness. You'll just be adding the vtec oil pressure sender and the vtec activation wires. that's it.

I have a question about that wiring also. Im currently swapping an H22 in a 92 Si and i have no problems wiring anything up but one thing I noticed is that the top neck for the upper radiator hose on the H23 had a sensor in it and the H22 doesnt so I have that plug just hanging there. Anyone have any ideas on what to do with that plg since the H22 neck doesnt have a sensor in it? Thanks

I swapped the h23 neck over from my old motor so I could use the
sensor but there is really no need to do that.
There are a few guys on here that just left it laying there
and everything is fine
