Default S2K when hitting V-TEC it screws up......

My bosses S2K, when it hits V-tec it sounds like it start hopping all the way up through v-tec to redline. Just wondering what might cause that and how could I fix it. Thanks

Check the oil level.... My old hatch did something similar to what you are describing.. Pop in and out of vtec b/c of low oil.

Any more details on the actual issue?

Is he letting it warm up to 3 bars?
Oil level, as previously mentioned, checked?

I don't think this can be stressed enough: vtec. Not v-tec, not v-tech, not v-t3K..

Your boss's VTEC must be ****.

Tell him to buy this:

Your can get it at your nearest 7/11 It increases at least 120hp if u shove it into ur glove box

I agree since the F20C is known to burn oil, it even says to expect it in the owners manual. This also means that he may have not gotten an oil change in a long while since he should only be burning about a quart within 3000 miles. Tell him to check his oil every 2-3 weeks or so to be safe, even though the manual says to check at every gas fillup.

Car could also be missing due to poor/incorrectly gapped plugs. This happened to an ITR I was looking at. Kid didn't know what the issue was. We pulled plugs and re gapped them. It didn't miss anymore.

It could also be your rotor (do S2k's have a rotor?)

i would also say oil level related....

no cel right?

maybe some sort of limp mode

there is no rotor/ distributor on s2k... individual coil on each wire

Possibly plugs then. I had an oil level problem on my old GSR and it threw a cel.

either oil level or the map sensor is acting up. try re-installing the map sensor, it's very easy to do.

No need to reinstall the map, just tap it gently. It's near impossible to diagnose your bosses car on the internet. Did you drive it hard and he pressed you to fix it or something Make sure the car is current on maintenance and TSB's. That is easy to check with your local honda dealer.

you'll probably only throw a cell if your oil pressure is crazy low, when mine is low and I go around a turn it drops to like idle oil pressure low, which is not enough to engauge vtec. If your cel comes on because of oil pressure, you have a serious problem.
