custom heater question...
I pulled out my dash today. Big deal for me as Ive never done this.
Basically I want to know if theres a way I can get rid of part "B" and "C" and connect "A" to "D" and only have heat coming from the defrost vents on the dash. Or is there an easier way to do this? Any ideas?

If you cant see the pic let me know and Ill fix it.

I thought "C" only routed the air to either the dash vents or the defrost vents.. "D" is the piece that sits on top of "C" and connects to the dash.

why do you want to get rid of this stuff anyway?</TD></TR></TABLE>
The heater is hooked up to a on/off toggle switch. When I pulled apart the dash I found out alot of the pieces that shut off or open vents are broken. I really have no need for any heat other then to stop the windshield from fogging up and warming the car up so I dont freeze in the coming months. Im thinking if I direct the heat straight to the defrost vents, I wont lose as much heat out of the other vents that I wont use anyways and Im pretty sure that as small as the car is it will heat up fine with just the defrost vents working.. Theres no AC in the car and thats another reason I dont really care about replacing alot of these parts.
So can I just get rid of B and C and still make heat? I know it wont get routed anywhere that way but do I need them?

its already out. was never in there. the previous owner took it out I guess. I just bought the car. Im not worried about weight, I like my interior but thanks for the tip.
Box b, the ac condensor (or whatever) can be eliminated and replaced with a piece of duct work from a non ac car. I found one for mine for about $20 shipped. You could seal off the rest of the openings so that air will only flow from the defrost vent D. C&D are connected to your heater core so sealing up C would be probably be your only option. Hell, I'm confussed...c, no d...lol Hope that made sense.

LOL that sounds like a plan. What car did you take your duct work off of? Did it match up to the holes or did you have to customize it?
I will block off all other holes except the defrost vent with plexiglass.
Thanks for the idea.
