Throwout Bearing Assembly Removal *ASAP WORKING ON IT* PIC!
******* right guys, I actually dropped the tranny myself, well almost atleast, I couldnt get the vss so I just tilted the tranny so I have access to the bearing and I didnt even have to remove my shift linakges.
I just cant figure out how to remove and install my throwout bearing.
I took off the 12mm bolt (book said 8mm for some reason) and nothings budging
Let me know what I have to remove (modify pics if you can) thanks

THANKS THANKS THANKS for everyone help with this and my previous threads

It's prob going to be hard like that i'd suggest getting it fully out (the tranny)
But here's what you do...
You see that spring wound around the shaft? It has 2 arms that extend and hook on the sides of the TO bearing (top and bottom of the TO bearing in that pic).
Use a screwdriver to just pull them out of the holes on the TO bearing and the bearing will slide right off the input shaft.
After that put a tiny bit of grease on the input shaft and put on the new TO bearing.
This is the hardest part...getting the spring arms back onto the TO bearing. I used a screwdriver and pair of needlenose pliers to pull them into position and back into their spot in the holes on TO bearing.
You may not even be able to see this from your standpoint so if not just save yourself the time/pain and remove the tranny.
Once you have a plain view and some good light you'll know exactly what i'm talking about.
Good luck!

i hope i don't have problems in a few weeks in my clutch install b/c it needs to be done in a few days (tires, header, clutch, and maybe rear drums)
Well Ive never done anything on cars in my life other than bolt ons, I made a few threads and in about 7 hours total working now I got my axles and suspension all disassembled, starter removed(second bolt honestly is ******* horribly hidden), motor mounts completely taken out, some rumbling trying to get the tranny to drop properly, lots of looking for sockets
Make sure you have a breaker bar though, Ive got a 3' piece of pipe what Ive used for more the 60% of the bolts

You can do it if you really concentrate, have appropriate tools, spend all of your time on it.
It will really help you if you take out the tranny first. Trying to do the TO bearing takes 5 mins if you do it on your garage floor and maybe 1-2 hours plus trying to do it with the tranny hanging inside the bay on a bad angle with bad light and unable to get a tool in the right position...

I could tell it was deifnetely my t/o bearing cause the noise, I would put it upside down and you could hear some rattling, not solid like the new one
I almost finished the install today, just have to wire the starter, install lcas back on, axle nut and wheel, try her out
Grandparents make me pack up at 8pm because they wanna go to bed lol
