So I went to the dragstrip last night just to see what the car was capable of and was not happy with my performance. I really let my car down.
I'm more of a circuit racer and have only been to a drag strip three times previously with my old car. This was my first time with the R.
I know there are many variables but I'm gonna post the contents of my time slip and if some of the experts might be able to disect it and maybe tell what my car SHOULD run if it had a capable launcher behind the wheel.
R/T ... .180
60' ... 2.749
330 ... 6.814
1/8 ... 10.180
mph ... 73.64
1000 ... 13.050
1/4 ... 15.468
mph ... 92.44
Like I said I know I let my car down and think that this car is capable of midish 14's with a good driver. Let me know what you guys think.
Only mods on the car are exhaust,K&N drop in filter, Tein SS suspension and Rota Slips 15" with shitty Kumho 712's. if you can even call those mods.
TIA

Hmm,
your 60' seems really high
What tire pressures did you run?
What RPM did you launch at?
Where's this track located and what's the elevation?

My tire pressure was at 30psi I know it was a little high.
I tried launching at 4000rpm and dumping it but I think next time if there ever is a next time LOL J/K I'll feather it at 5000-6000rpm's
The track is in Ontario Canada it's called Cayuga and the elevation should be pretty close to sea level.
So If I was to say hit a 2.2 60' would it be safe to say that that would put me in the midish to high 14's or better???

^^^What he said^^^
Yeah, once you do something about lowering those 60' times, you will definately see an improvement. A 2.2 60 ft will most likely put you into mid 14s.
See sig for how a 2.2 60' is done

practice practice practice....first time its always difficult, just keep at it. you will start pulling much better times
Don't feel too bad, that's about what I was running on a stock R in Texas (100 degree weather)
I don't remember my 60' time but you need to work on it obviously. It's something you 'can' do on a country road with no one else around...

As said above its all in the launch, but i used to run those Kumho 712's and they didnt really grip for **** launching. A stickier tire would definitely help.
