Stumped as to why my car won't run in correct TIMING!
Ok I got everything line up, the cam gear, the crank pulley, everything is aligned. I still have to run the dizzy fully advanced for the car to run decently, but I want it to run correctly. I've checked my TDC twice. First time i realigned, but the crank pulley went out of TDC when retensioning. Second time I know I got it all right. I'm out of ideas... could it be my distributor?
Yes.... I have the service connector jumped pretty much all the time so if and when a code arises I can know what it is.

I just set the cam so that the up was verticle, and the lines on the side of the cam were level.
There are specific marks for P08 on the plastic cover behind the cam gear. Line up the corresponding marks on the cam gear. "UP" should then be somewhere between 11:00 and 12:00.
Jim you are god for a day.... thank you 1000000000000000000000000000x's!
Hell make that two days!

I thought you already had this solved in the other thread?? wait, read last post...
regardless I bet it's still off a tooth or two.
cam -- up = up (duh) horizontal lines are parallel to the head
crank -- two ways, one with the cover and pulley already on and the other by the marks on the block and crank. keep in mind where the tension comes from and such.
it took me 3 tries to get it dead on the first time I ever did this. pita but there's only one way to learn.

Not true for the D15B. Remember the deck height is shorter than the 1.6l motors.
