Default Winter hybrid owners...ever get a bit *scared* to roll on the 13" steelies?

I re-mounted my stock 13" steelies for winter. I have to say I'm a bit scared now rolling on 13's. They just don't feel like they have enough tread for the power I have. I usually roll on my set of 15" '99 Si wheels with some good Pirelli P700Z's and I feel quite confident.

Just curious if anyone else feels the same way.

I guarantee alot of people feel the same way.. I hated them in the dry summer when my 14" EX rims wore out up front.. I ran the 13's up front for a good month or so, although I never did try to juice on em..

I couldn't imagine rain or snow and the 13's.. Couldn't pay me to drive in traffic with those.. I have 15" S-03 Pole Positions on now, and i love them..

hehe i got 13" rims...i think my tire is a 175/65/13...damn they suck **** for traction...when i floor the car in first gear, once i hit around 5g on the tach i loose tire traction and my wheels go a spinnin...i just got the motor dropped and im tryin to get use to the hybrid way of life...but so far im lovin it..

I use my 13" steelies as spares and I'm not putting them on for the winter. I'm just gonna keep rolling on my painted 5-spoke gsr rims. I don't care if they get fugged up by salt, getting some new rims this spring anyways.

I've got my "economy" 13" winter wheels on my ZC sedan right now. Too bad it doesn't run. But yea, even with my ZC that doesn't have as much power as some other hybrids, it spins the hell out of the tires if I try to get on the gas real hard in 1st and second. But the tires are wonderful in the rain which is great.

Yeah, but it's not that I'm TOO worried about the salt with the Si wheels, it's just that I don't want to buy some expensive all season/winter 15" tires.

Believe me...I'd love to have some Blizzaks, but I can't afford them.

I have Nitto450's on my gsr rims and they suck major ***. I posted here about opinion on them and 99% said they suck ***. I went ahead and kept them since I paid like $220 for the set. This will be the first winter they experience and I hope they don't get me stuck kissing a guard rail.

I use 14 inch ex rims with Yokohama gaurdex tires. Thats the only thing that will clear my brakes. They are great in the snow and ice. This is my 3rd winter and still
have lots of tread.

Last winter I spun out and wrecked my car the night I put my steelies back on, I forgot how little traction there is on those things. I didn't even have my swap then! It will be interesting, I'm waiting for it to snow good before I put them on.

Good idea Mike.

Maybe I'll put my 15's back on.
