I've cleaned mine every month since last january and it looks really dirty now even after i've cleaned it. Do any of you guys know how long those filters are actually good for? I know they won't last forever, but Can they wear out enough that they won't filter as good (like they filter good in the first place hehe ). It just looks alot browner than when it was new even after cleaning it very good. Have you guys replaced yours yet? Thanks

I wasn't under the impression that you had to replace them. I thought you just had to clean them every 2 oil changes (which I havent done). Comptech's # is 916-933-1080 if you want to call them and ask them.

 

They just look dirty after a few cleanings.. the filter still works fine.
I have a customer (50 yr old man) with that Comptech foam filter in his 97 ITR.
Been fine for about 2 years. He gets it cleaned with every oil change when he comes in.

 

hrm....i think comptech filter cleaning time is approaching over here as well..er..it's long past due, but...you know...it'll actually finally happen.

On another note, my Comptech filter is fine after 18,000 miles in a "harsh" enviroment, lots of dust mountain roads plus 1 spin at Buttonwillow...I found more dirt under the back seat cushion when I took it out 2 weeks ago
