I have the drop-in filter on my integra with the custom cold-air induction. I've had it for close to 3 years now and it the filter still looks like it was brand new, even with the dirt that sometimes gets in through the front piping. The filter is made of a high-quality foam that feels very solid and durable. I've wash it many times using the specified cleaner and it never feels like it's breaking apart. The plastic surrounding the filter seems like your ordinary plastic, nothing special, but very durable.

Putting the cost aside, it's a good high-quality filter and will last very very long.

The only benefit will be that it is re-usuable. I dynoed both and difference was negligable

thanks, i figured it wouldnt really make horses or anything, just slightly better flow with longevity...as opposed to spending 120+ for the spoon filter element...

I'm currently using the foam filter with my stock airbox; still thinking about purchasing the ice box. It is reusable, but you'll be cleaning it more often compared to a K&N filter. (I think the instructions state every other oil change?)

The directions state that you need to clean it every other oil change...I just look at it and when it looks to dirty for my taste I clean it...cleaned it twice in the last 15,000 miles, and I did a lot of driving with the turn signal removed for more air through the Icebox.

i know comptech says the icebox needs to be used with their intake pipe, but can it in any way be used with the stock rubber upper pipe? i really dont want a chrome pipe in my engine bay, even if it does increase throttle response...and the only reason im looking at the icebox is because it looks stock basically...

yes.. A friend uses it withthe stock rubber pipe...it works fine, comptech is just trying to make a sale. I put $20 on that the difference between the 2 is negligable(sp?)
