Prolonged cranking before start
Hey guys, ok its not really a problem it just sort of bothers me but anyway, it used to be when I start the car, I hold the key down for a couple seconds, it cranks about twice and starts, a couple of times the past 2 days its taken quite a while to start, like ill sit there and let it crank about 4-5 times and stop, then do it again and it will start after about the 3rd or 4th crank on the 2nd try... Is this like an ignition system problem? Like maybe my stock plug wires? Plugs are new... distributor hasnt been touched... i'm not real sure what this has to do with so someone who does give me some insight. Sorry for the lack of punctuation.
are you lower than usual on the gas?
It happens to Honda's when you get to below 1/4 tank.. takes a few seconds more to start.
This can be avoided by turning the key (not all the way) until the fuel pump primes (about 5 seconds) and then it will always start right up.
I usually turn the key on to the first postition, put on my belt, then turn the car over.
Never any hesitation, even when kinda low on gas.

Thats a really good tip, I have been priming mine everytime since I found out a few months ago, and it starts real easy.

ive always waited about 5-10 seconds before starting to let it prime, and i tried it today after work on a full tank of gas and it took me 3 tries instead of 2 this time.
No doubt time for a tune up. Plugs, cap, rotor & air filter (if it is dirty). Check the resistance of yuor plug wires to see if they are within specs. change them if not chances are they are still good.
