Default OT: Powder Coating

Sorry to post it in the ITR forum, but I'm not authorized to post in the damn Miscellanous forum and Wheel forum, so I'm gonna have to post it here and ask my ITR buddies for some help...

I just picked up my MF10's today, and one of them needs to be powder coated, cause some of the paint wore off, due to the previous owner driving it in the snow, and letting the salt eat away at it... I just need to get a rough estimate on how much it is to powder coat rims? Just a ballpark figure.

it's probably going to be in the $100-125 neighborhood per rim.

it really varies from $60-120+ depending on area.

I had mine done before for $20 per rim. $20/ rim for sandblasting and $20/rim for powdercoating.

Are you going to powdercoat just that one rim or all of them?

I agree, 40-60 per rim, depending on your area.

I'll probably redo all of them. Two have scratches too, probably get that taken care of as well... thanks for all the help guys... I thought it would cost around 150 per wheel, but 60 - 80 sounds great.

there's a guy in the Great Lakes area (north of Chicago) who charges $50/rim. Two friends had it done, it turned out great!

I believe Mugen MFs are annodized, not powder coated. You can powder coat them, but you will need to do all four for a match.

I'm pretty sure they are anodized too.

Do all 4 - otherwise it won't match.

Yeah, they are anodized... I examined them last night and realized that... the lip however is powder coated. Anybody know how much it costs to anodize?

Whatever choice you make, I STRONGLY suggest doing all four so that it matches.

I will, but I have to find a place that anodizes, and get a quote.

I was quoted 45-50 per wheel to anodize, that was in So Cal. They have to anodize the entire wheel, so powder coating would have to come afterward.

Thanks... Hopefully it won't cost me an arm and a leg to get everything done...
