Default Surf Rack for RSX

Ive come to realize that my car is too small to carry my boards in, especially now with the two 10's and their box in the back. The skim boards are no prob, the shorty i can work with, but then my others, which i like to use the most, are just too long. I know i could just get a rack with some straps goin through the windows holdin it down whenever i put it on. Does anyone have one though? Anyone have a more permanent rack on their car that actually doesnt look like crap? Any info, pics or links would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

Yakima makes one with an extender. You probably will have problems opening the hatch all the way with the rack on though.

You mean with the board on there? Or even with just the rack alone? I mean i expect not be able to open the hatch with the baord on there.

i am sure he means with the board on top, but i would guess it all depends, if it is a longboard or shortboard....

the extension piece he is refering to is called a short roof line adapter by thule, i dont know what yakima calls it, i would guess something similar...

Well cruisin around some surf shops i found some. They're just the strap on kind, so no bolts or damage to the car. I got one from XM. Its the single design but it fits 3 shorty's stacked on top of each other or two long boards. It was $33.99 down at BC surf in San Clemente. Killer Dana in Dana Point had similar ones for $36.99. I'll post up a pic with and without a board as soon as i get a chance. Thanks for the reply's guys.

XM single rack. It was $33.99. Just for reference the board is a 7'2"

Took on a road test and it hovers a lil in the front, but thats not unusual. Cruisin 60 down pch shouldnt be a prob
