Default tightening down my new clutch, a few questions???????

Im in the process of installing my clutch right now. It says to torque it down to 18 foot lbs of torque. My snap on torque wrench only goes down to 25 ft lbs. What effect does overtightning the clutch have? I played with using an impact and the fingers of the clutch started to fold in. Is this normal, or should I not over torque it?

it says 18 because you should not over tighten the pressure plate. it soes not ned to be exact. set the wrench at 25 and feel you way once you know what 25 feels like you should be able to get it to close to 18 + or - a couple is not a big deal. Do not use a impact wrench!!
