Suspension Dilema....Help
new to the site and im lovin it!
well heres my little problem: i got a 91 hatch, and i recently put gc coilovers on it. well i noticed that the front isnt that low. so i asked a couple of buddies and they told me to take out the cup and just run the spring....now my problem is that my car bounces a lot(in the front)....would i need new shocks to fix this? ive been looking into the tokico illuminas(5-way adj) and i can get all 4 shipped for about 400...is this a good price? thanks for the help

Your buddies helped you ghetto rig your suspension. Chances are that you bought the wrong set of springs for your GCs. Instead of 7 inch springs, which will allow you to lower your car to your heart's desire, you probably have 8 inchers, which will barely allow tucking.
And your car is bouncing because you have stock shocks. Agx's, illuminas, they've all been covered before, just take your pick.

I am not sure what cup they are talking about but just follow the instructions for the ground controls. also those cars are not to be too low. it won't matter what shock or spring kit you have. if you are too low the car will bounce and pretty much the suspension is useless. it would be like riding on cut springs.

That's not neccessarily true. If you plan on dropping the car 3" or a slight bit more, you can still yield a pretty damn nice ride. You'll just need a few mods:
1) 89 accord Tokico blues for the front (1" ride gained back)
2) move the fork mount up (~0.5" gained back)
3) Welded tubes to shock mounts (1" gained in the front, 2" in the back")
So if you've done these pretty simple mods, a car that's lowered 3 inches should ride pretty nice. BUT, it'll probably still bottom out if you hit the huge bumps though, but there shouldn't be any bouncing.

that sounds like a lot of work for most guys. not saying it won't work but not all guys are willing to perform some of the work and even at that point depending on where you live and road conditions a real low car is not going to swing for some.
