Default gsr vs itr Problems

Im at a crossroad. I used to have an all motor h22a accord. I had all basic boltons and alot of headwork. I hit a 13.7 @ 103mph. I now have a 95 gsr. Im building over the winter. Is it worth it to keep the GSR c1? Or should I sell it and just buy a c5? I mean what is the potential of a c1. If I keep it I plan on building the head and just bumping up the comp to 11.5 w/ type r pistons. Or just buying an itr motor. What are your thoughts. which would you chhose and which would I be happier w/.
Thanks alot

with all the money your gonna spend getting a c5 i would, spend it on the gsr and get clutch/flywheel/lsd. them like you said bump the compression up maybe a little more than 11:5,get some better valvetrain w/cams.
sounds alot better than getting a c5 in my opinion.

Plus it would be a fresh motor, not a used one.

IMO, I refer to the B18C5 as a Hype R! Its a GREAT motor for daily driving fun without headaches, but over-rated as a drop in race engine. Its true that for the money, your C1 does have more potential. A decent built GSR will sent you back probably $2000 to $4000, depending on what you buy. A complete ITR swap is around $4500, if you are lucky. I have seen C5's go for $6500. 195 hp for $6500 is CRAZY! Build the C1.

Thanks alot</TD></TR></TABLE> the ITR had higher compression(10.1) pistons not good for turbo ..where as the gsr has 9.1. a little better for turbo so the decision is up to u...

who said anything about Turbo???

Personally, I would keep the c1, build it, and get some better gearing....ie. R or b16 transmission. This is the path I'm currently on! Good luck.

the CRs for an ITR and GSR are not 10:1 and 9:1 respectively, anyway.

Get the C1 or the JDM b18c(GSR) the P72 head design IMO is better then the pr3 head design

Edit: the USDM b18c1 has 10.1:1 C/R and the JDM version of the same engine has 10.6:1 C/R

You obviously don't know what you're talking about because those compressions are not correct. Don't give and suggestions if you don't know what you're talking about.

Stick with the b18c1. The c5 is not worth the money. If your planning to change rods and pistions anyway. The two blocks are basicly the same.
