Default Bad Bearing in 2001 Auto Tranny

My buddy has a 2001 Accord LX (4 cylinder) with an automatic transmission. He just had warranty work done for a bad bearing in the tranny after only 68k mi. The fix was to replace the tranny with a rebuilt one.

Does anyone know about this? Was the problem fixed or is this something that he should look forward to doing again?

Thanks for the help...

Tranny problems on the 98-02" accords are VERY comon. The re-built one that goes back in believe it or not is alot better and has some added parts. Some of trannys that got built did not have oil transfer tubes and they over heated. This caused bearing, clutch packs, and shift sild's. to go bad. As long as he takes car of the new one he should have no problems.

That is good news. Thanks for the help.

He got it replaced under warranty and didn't pay a dime.
