Default Prelude Clutch Cable or Hydraulic

hiya Guys,
This is my first post on here, so bear with me please?
My son and I bought a 2.2 Vtec Lsi JDM Prelude (1992-3) , imported to UK , about 6 months ago. The car was in tip top condition, but a few problems have arisen.

lots of things have been fixed, but today he has phoned me to say his clutch has packed in----pedal just goes to the floor. He is living 150 miles away from me.
Does anyone know if this car has a cable or hydraulic clutch?
He was meant to be comin home tomorrow and I need to advise him quickly about what to do.
Is this sudden failure something common, like a hose breaking, or cylinder failure? I would love to know any opinions anyone may have.?

They have cable linkages but they are a hydraulic type clutch. I believe all H series transmissions are hydraulic. Usually you only find the cable ones from 1991 and older.
