Si and DX brake question
I was just wondering if crx Si and DX front brake calipers and rotors are the same. I was going to intercahnge the 2 taking the DX front brakes and putting them on the Si

ok because looking at the rotors they are the same except the si has crossdrilled. The calipers look like the idiot i bought the car from fucked them up. because the 2 calipers look totaly different. Like he tried some ghetto *** Integra conversion or something.

Rotors are the same.
For calipers, '90-91 CRX Si has different calipers from the '90-91 CRX DX - they take a different pad. They should be interchangheable however.

NO! 90-91 Si and DX calipers are not the same. I have had both and you have to swap the entire bracket and caliper assembly. The caliper on the Si is larger and the bolts which hold it to the bracket are different. Just make sure you swap the bracket as well.

That's because they use the same caliper which takes a 273 pad. CRX Si uses a 373 pad.

OK so what i needed to do was change out my 91 si passenger side suspension (everything) with my 91 dx pass. side suspenion. so will i be able to take off the dx rotor and caliper and use the Si's?

You don't need to swap rotors unless the current ones have a problem, because they use the same rotor. I personally wouldn't bother with drilled rotors anyway.
As for the calipers, they are different but should be interchangeable (as CRX7 mentioned, swap the entire assembly including the bracket).
I would swap both of them, so you don't have 2 different calipers up front.

So then would it be a problem if i use my 91 crx dx front brakes (everything) on the Si?? the dx calipers wont affect the brake balance on my Si will they?

There wouldn't be any problem.
The Civic Si used the same front calipers (273 pad) as the CRX DX, Civic DX, etc.; for some reason, they gave the CRX Si the slightly larger front calipers (373 pad) and factory rear discs, but not the heavier Civic Si.
