B16 with nitrous
Listen I have searched and searched.... I have a very strong b16 in my crx, and I want to run a 50st... I have i/h/e... all cheap stuff like ebay, apc, and maxi muffler.... stuff like that, anyway how long could I run that shot before i break something? Thanks...
You can run a 50 shot all day long direct port and it would be fine. I fyou spray through your intake arm you will end up putting most of the NOS into you 1st and 2nd cyl and therfor weaking the 2

Sorry, but that is a crock of sh*t.
Why would cyl 1 and 2 be getting more nitrous when they are the farthest away from the nozzle?
I ran a 75 shot on an ls motor and a ITR motor for over 2 years with a simple dry system(injects it into the intake).
No problems whatsoever and all spark plugs had similar readings (if 2 cyls were getting more nitrous, those cylinders would be running lean while the others ran rich).
If you take the necessary precautions, your motor will live a very long, happy life.
-Retard your timing
-always run at least 91 octane
-run colder plugs
-dont use nitrous below 3000rpm
-dont use nitrous longer than 15 seconds at a time

your first 2 cyl from the dist. Get MORE NOS in them because they are closest to the intake arm. If you dont believe that then you are one dumb sob. I dont care what you do when you run a wet/dry setup through an intake arm your first 2 cyl will get more NOS and it will weaken them faster than the last 2.

So what if I use a Zex kit? Will that cure the problem? I'm just wondering because you keep talking about NOS and not NX or Zex.

Ha!
You are a rookie, plain and simple.
In a dry set-up, your fuel injectors are supplying the extra fuel, so each cyl gets the same amount of fuel, regardless of what the nitrous does. So if cly # 3 & 4 were getting more nitrous they would be running lean and #1 & 2 would be running rich(since 3 & 4 are getting some of the nitrous that 1 & 2 are supposed to get).
If that were the case, the spark plugs would read accordingly.
Distribution is not going to be perfect, but it wont be off enough cause any problems.
I checked my plugs regularly and never once did my plugs read noticably different.
They were always nice and consistant.

Since when does nitrous cause a cylinder to get weaker?
My Ls swap that I used nitrous on(about 4 years ago) is still running in a friends car and my old itr swap that I used nitrous on(2 years ago) is still running in my brothers coupe and he is currently running nitrous on it again.
Not to mention I have a friend that runs a 90 shot(through the intake *gasp*) on a sentra with 155,000 miles on the odometer. And he goes to the track almost every weekend!
Like I said, take the necessary precautions, use common sense while shooting, and your motor will last a very long time.

The motor will last if you use it smart....my friend has 91 crx si with b16a, i/h/e and 60 shot runs 13.20 on slicks....been runnin the 60 shot for over a year still running strong, good luck with it and have fun.

I think honda made the manifolds good enough to distribute air pretty evenly and if they did the job right the nitrous will distibute just as well as the air does.
