NO OIL PRESSURE
hey whats up. well my friend is have n some problems with an H22 motor in a 95 civic. He just rebuilt the motor and when we started it up, there was harldy any oil pressure. at idle during startup it was about 10 psi and when revved to 5K the pressure didnt go past 30 psi.
this is what we tried to do to fix the problem:
1)changed oil pump--->didnt fix problem
2)took out pickup and cleaned it out------>didnt fix problem
3)changed pressure sending unit------->didnt fix problem
4)changed oil pressure gauge think it was bad----->didnt fix problem
5)checked the main bearings and everything looked fine. also checked the clearance on it, and they were within specs
we are completely stumped! we have no idea whats wrong with the car.
could it be the oil pressure gauge tubing that runs from the gauge to the oil pressure fitting? could it be bent somewhere. i'll check that possibility tomorrow.
if we overtightened the cam caps, could that stop oil pressure? i think we torqued them to 15ft-lbs....not sure though.
anything to do with the shaft balancers?
ANY advice will be appreciated. we ripped apart that bottom end so many times and still havent found the problem

do you get an oil light? how many quarts of oil are you adding and when rev past 5000rpm does vtec engage?
best thing to do is use a oil pressure guage and directly hook it up to the block and test it from there....
