the v6 is faster, 170 hp, the VTEC has 145hp, the v6 has just about no aftermarket support, go with the 95 vtec, good car, and good support

auto vs auto v6 should be able to take down the 4cycl from a stop. Base on my experience, V6 version is much more responsive. 4cycl manual will take down v6 from a stop btw.

On the freeway, v6 should be able to take down 4cycl manual and auto period!

You have no clue what you are talking about. The C27 in that accord is weak as hell and the car is insanely heavy. There is som much more weight on the v6 model than the 4cyl model and it really kills the performance. I would say go with the 4cyl model and enjoy it cause the f22's are awesome and will last forever.

Yeah, the F22 is definitely better. Just because it's a V6 and has more HP doesn't mean it's faster. WEIGHT always plays a factor in performance. It is significantly heaving than the F22 version thus it is not faster and is in fact slower than the 4cyl accord. Not to mention there is much more support out there for the F22 than the V6.

Exactly...NTM there is little aftermartket support for the 5th gen v6. Get the 4 cylinder manual and go boost .

I remember reading a Car & Driver test of both cars back in 95. I decided to buy the 4-cylinder VTEC EX based on this test. Both had auto trannies. The V6 model was a little quicker off the line due to its bottom end torque. The VTEC was quicker at mid- to top-end due to its better rev band and breathing capacity. The difference was about a half second. The negative comments about the V6 was the weight of the engine and its impact on cornering and steering feel as well as fuel economy. The V6 (retiring Acura engine) was noted for smoothness and response and idle.

I have raced many 4cycl accords on the freeway while mine was stock and have beaten them all with no questions asked. They couldn't keep up at all. Some have h/i/e. Oh yeah I do know what i'm talking about because I actually have a v6 accord and have raced with it. i'm not just looking at papers and websites with numbers on it.

As for racing from a stop, yes a manual 4cycl with a good driver will kill the v6. Auto 4cycl will lose if not keep up with v6.

The down side to the v6 is no aftermarket support. All u can get is exhaust and intake and groundwires.

Overall yes a 4cycl is better.

at the 1/4

five speed(manual, stick shift, standard) vtec four banger(ex) will take down 5th gen v6, not much but it's little bit quicker.

i didnt pull the info out of my ****, search around if you still think i am buffing.

i am glad someone already pointed out the c27 have no aftermarket support, the engine sucks. Please don't argue why because i do have both motor(that's f23a4 and c26 from acura legend first gen)

that's what the sales want you to think

then tell me why the 200hp/200tq accord v6 have more 1/4 mile time than a h22 prelude considering they weight about the same plus the prelude have like 40 less tq?

and why some japanese imported high output v6(cough 350z) are beating v8 mustang stock to stock? hey mang, v8 duuu

manual vs sh_tty auto

like i said, most people thing 5th gen v6 are faster because it got two extra cylinders but at the 1/4 mile it not faster than a i4.
I don't think or make any of this stuff up, i say this because i saw it.
