when should the vtec kick in on a 95 1.6 auto

5500 ish. You wont feel anything though, just a change in noise.

95 ex..? be more specific. Civic are USUALLY 5500 rpm..

Yup. If you take off your intake you will hear it a little bit more. (dont drive around without and intake just to hear it, I'm not responsible for your engine if it blows up cause you sucked something into it) But anyways, it's not much. Kind of a let down when you ride in a boosted GSR.

no he has the mad rare JDM 1.6L non v-tec from 95.


I think that it kicks in at 5200-5500. Not really sure. I have mine altered so I couldn't say for sure.

It was a joke.

The guy was asking what model it was. the 1.6 Vtec is only in one car.

okay, to get super detailed. The 1.6 vtec only came in two civics in 95. The sol and the EX here in the US

Yeah, I never get into VTEC when I had my auto, simply because it didn't do anything (well noticebaly) and I couldn't hear it over my exhaust.

I'm pretty sure my 93 EX kicked in at 5200. It was going to be chipped to 4500, but my Civic got wrecked before I got the chance to start the fun.

If you don't really notice it can you actually say it kicks in? that'll seem more like walking or maybe crawling in.

vtec will engage between 4800-5200rpm depending on manifold pressure, throttle positon and a few other things

no SiR in canada for 5th gen, only si d16z. what the the us 5th gen SI have for an engine the d16z as well?
