Need an Expert! CSI-Type question
Hey,
This morning someone did a hit and run on my car, the damage wasnt really that bad but its the principle of the thing. Two of my neighbors saw the car and say it was around a '93-94 honda accord. The car's headlight busted when it hit mine so I collected the parts and am looking at them now. I dont know if this will help at all but i got a serial number from the inside of the gray lightbulb holder, it is STANLEY 041-3972r I also have a partial serial from the clear plastic lightbulb protector, the partial serial is SAE APP2 89... it cuts off after the 89. A piece of the paint also came off, it is black with one of those small silver stripes, im not sure if these were year-specific but I remember they used to be popular. If anyone can pinpoint the year with this information it would be very helpful. The reason I'm trying to get the exact year is because I plan on calling the local Honda dealerships to be on the lookout.
Thanks in advance. Any comments are welcome.

Those numbers are likely just the light part numbers. I seriously doubt they identify anything other then the light/housing, although I'm not positive

Yup, one is stanley part number, one is certification number for that headlight (comfirming that the headlight is street legal). Stripe? hmm...not so sure, isn't that
just an option to put on at the dealership? Car dealerships takes care of their customer, they refuse to get involve or turn in their customer. why don't you try looking for body shops input?

You are not going to find anything from the headlight part numbers. You should just deal with it with the police as a hit and run and let insurance take care of it.
Well Im not an expert but you say that you think its either a 93-94 thats too different body styles. You said that one of the parts are a clear plastic part well if this is the case and its the headlight lens then it is a 5th gen (94-97) if there is glass from a headlight lens then it was a 4th gen (90-93)
