Gas mileage?
I see that 92-93 accords last a long time. What i am wondering is, do they get good gas mileage? I am planning on getting a 5 speed accord. I am also having trouble 'getting ahold' of one also. they seem to go fast when they are in the paper. also, what are some of the parts that you need to replace to make the car run as long as it can? Also in my other post someone said "and try to find a way to lighten up the 2800lb beast"...what ways could I do that?

There are alot of things that you can do to lighten up a car. If you don't want to gut the interior (like myself), you can do little things like remove the spare tire gut the lining out of the trunk and get some lighter weight racing seats for the front. Other than that, there isnt a whole bunch to do to lighten the car if you want it to look nice and its your daily driver. As for what to replace to make it last longer, just do the basics, timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, oil and oil filter change. But before you decide to buy it, take it for a test drive and take it to a local mechanic and have them do a quick run through of the car, they can tell you if there are any bad oil leaks or just about anything else that is getting ready to go. I own a 1990 accord ex with some "mods" (check my sig) and it still gets about 24-26 mpg city and about 32-35 mpg highway. I hope I was able to help you out at least a bit and try autotrader.com to find another 4th gen (1990-1993) accord in your area, there are usually quite a few up there. Good luck!
