Default Painting: Help me out

hey guys i didnt know where to go so i turned to you guys...first of all i'm working on my brothers hatch and as of now i'm on the preping process...so far the engine bay is empty...now here is my question...what is/are some good engine degreaser that i should use to get that nasty junk off?

also i'm painting the car my self. i have painted some body parts for people so i consider myself an average joe...my paint gun as of now is not good anymore and i will only use it to primer the car i need to know what other types of paint guns are out there for a reasonable amount of $$$ so i can finish...so hit me on the types of guns you guys own or have dealt with?? and also for the right price too...i'll be able to use about 200-250 dollars...so help me out H-T...

Simple Green and high pressure water has always worked for me to get the engine bay spotless. I would suggest renting a pressure washer, because the garden hose w/ a nozzle won't cut it. You need HIGH pressure.
