XM Radio for Accord V6 question
My Accord came with a 3 month subscription to xm radio. I did not opt to sign up for the xm radio service. My problem is that whenever I switch from AM to FM to CD using the "Mode" button on the steering wheel, it toggles to the XM radio stations (XM Radio 1 and XM Radio 2) during the cycle. In other words it goes from FM radio to AM radio to CD player to XM radio. Because I did not sign up for the XM radio service, it keeps playing its mindless comercials over and over again. Is there any way to bypass the xm radio selection on the "mode" button on the steering wheel.
I admit that is really more of an annoyance than a problem, but I would like to be able to simply toggle between FM / AM / and CD without having to skip over XM radio commercials.
Any advice would be extremely appreciated.
Thank you.

Haha...Gotcha didn't they? Programmed it up to prolong your subscription by annoying you.
The only way I know of to get rid of it is to go buy a decent aftermarket stereo and lose the steering wheel functions.
But seriously, you didn't like XM? I rented an OldsmoBuick last time we went to the casinos and I loved it. Continous stream of Punk, rock, classic rock, alternative and I never had to scan through FM stations of a strange city.

I think he means that he got a free 2 month subscription, but since he doesnt have the reciever he cant listen to the actual songs, and has to suffer through the commercials.
As for the question, not sure, sorry.

i dont think he could listen to the commercials if he didnt have a reciever (i could be wrong although its never happened before... just go with it) it sounds like its new, you might try going to the dealership and asking them, if they dont give you an answer try talking to the customer service department of honda, youd be supprised how much they try to keep customers, sometimes they acutally listen!
Sorry for the generic answer but going straight to the source has always worked pretty well for me.

Okay, the commercials won't even work without the receiver. The new vehicles like the Accord have the receiver built in. The problem is he doesn't have any service for the music channels because he does not want to pay for it.
This is like AM. Who listens to that crap? Why can't it be skipped when going through sources? Sorry bud, I think you're out of luck here.
