Losing Spark after engine gets hot.. anybody else?
Ok, thanks to a couple other peaople, I may have an idea about what's causing it, but I'm still curious as to how many other people have had this problem. My 2001 ITR with only about 8400 miles on it just cuts off after the engine gets good and warmed up. Upon pulling a plug, I found I have no spark, until the engine cools down again. No codes are being thrown, and the distributer cap/rotor looks good.. Anybody else have this happen? Any ideas? Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like a warranty problem to me - bring it back to the dealer!

You've obviously not seen Robert's car...
Rob: I'm here for some warranty work... my sparks don't fire.
Dealer: We don't remember selling any totally gutted and completely modified race car.
Rob: But, it's an Acura... I only have 8000 miles.
Dealer: Get-outta-heeeere... that ain't no street car.
LOL... I can see this convo between Rob and the dealer.

I've got a few ideas, thanks to Yack, Corey, Willard and Karl but I'm looking for any second opinions before I perform surgery.
Bobby - You could always plead -- "But it's so DANGEROUS driving on the streets! I need the full cage!"
Pat, who would be glad to lend Bobby some Volvo spark (seem to have too much of my own)

Rob I agree Sounds like the ignitor I had this problem in my car with the old engine we switched out the ignitor and it was fine, although the dealer wouldnt believe that it was the ignitor, So finally I made them switch it out and try it and low and behold I was right, and covered under warranty. The ignitor costs about $135, Even the way your car is They should cover it Its not like you have an aftermarket ignition, They would have to prove that whatever you have aftermarket in the car caused the ignitor to fail. I really cant see them saying "Well We believe the Cage caused the ignitor to malfunction"
Good luck If they give you crap, I have a # you can call and It Will be taken care of.

But the VAFC doesnt tap into any part of the ignition system, They cant refuse to warranty a part without proving that it was caused by an aftermarket piece. I'm sure they will take care of it, If not I'll give you a # to call.
