Optimum settings for 304ss

Default Optimum settings for 304ss

Got my new pt185 and want to weld my first manifold. What are the proper setting to get this welded? 304ss sch.40

I would go with a 3/32" 2% thor tung., 1/16th" 308 filler, about 125-140 amps, and maybe 15-18 cfh argon. Remeber to bevel the edges for better penetration. You may even want to purge the inside of the tubing since it is SS. Here is a handy little Calculator from Lincolns site that will help you with your settings:

Sched 40 is a little thicker then 1/8"
