Just wondering, if you got this manifold, would you take it back?
Look at the bottom and the tops of the inside of the flange, and the big gap of unwelded material on the bottom:

Im not going to reveal the name of the company that did it, because im sending it back for an exchange, but i wanted to know what would you guys do if you got this manifold.
P.S. the pictures are stupid dummy big!

i personally think thats bs. If a company is making a manifold for 400-500, **** even $1000 i think that it should be made right. If you say its going to be made one way (right) it should be made that way. And its a log manifold that cost cost me 400 with shipping, and thats a lot of money for something thats not made right no matter how you cut it.

Its good that the company is willing to work it out and make things right tho. In this type of industry a strong quality control is needed. But no one is perfect and if anything good comes out of it ; it will be someones *** being chewed out and a better chance of it never happening to someone else.

I couldn't tell what was going on in those gigantic blurry pics, but if you paid $400 for a log manifold, it should not only be perfect, but also gold plated and jewel encrusted. I'd send it back for re-welding and/or gold plating.

Re: (Shepherd)
yeah, cant see **** from the pictures.
I would even send back a 100dollar manifold if it came to that, if I'm buying something, I'm assuming its working and made well.

Haha, that's hardly a big problem. If you want to whine about it or you spent a LOT of money on it, sent it back. It's not like welding that will affect flow characteristics all that much.

The pictures size is big, but if you let the computer resize them for you, you can clearly see that the bottom of the flange is not welded on the inside, and its protruding out. It will effect flowing characteristics, but thats not the point here. The point is that i paid for my **** to be made good, strong, and the best quality they can do and i didnt get that. Thats the reason im sending it back.

hah, i just got the digi-cam yesterday and it was my first time using it. Theres an option for "images that are less then 28 inches away" but its obvious that i didnt see it yesterday. Anyways, an update, the seller told me to send it back today and he will refund the shipping and have it grinded down and shipped back to me within 48hrs.

Re: (Mr.Hankey)
I can't tell from the pics what is wrong with the manifold.
It looks nice to me. The welds look nice at least. I would be pleased if I received that manifold.
Maybe I'm just not seeing the problem.
You say there is a "big gap of unwelded material at the bottom". So there's a hole in the manifold? Like a gap where exhaust gasses are going to leak out? Well, that's definately a problem.

I actually think that manifold looks pretty nice. The welds look nice, it has good wastegate placement etc.
I personally wouldn't worry about that lip on the inside. Especially since it's a log manifold.

already sent it back, i think the manifold was excellent quality but still. I paid 400 for a log manifold, and im not going to fix it myself. They shouldve just grinded it down before they shipped it out.
Plus its right where the turbo is going to be at. I dont want anything in the way of my turbo, why would i settle for that when they agreed to fix it like it shouldve been when i got it.

i needed something a/c and p/s compatible for an f23, and i couldnt find anything but a log for that price. Do you know where i can get anything better for that price? And is a/c and p/s compatible (f22b manifold would fit too)
Edit: You must be ignorant to think 500 is the same as 400. I paid 400 shipped, an inline pro starts at 499 + shipping + taxes. It would be closer to 550 after that.

Don't see what the fuss is about. The welds are spot on. The "lip" inside is just a result of how log manifolds are made. Welding in there is just going to warp the flanges more and add more stress.
