Default Fast Idle Valves Acting up

After bringing my car in for service my mechanic discovered a problem with my fast idle valve. Two screws were over tightened and my RPMs were higher than usual. He said i should bring it back and check it out. Want some opinions on if i should change my fast idle valve hoses or what could cause it to act up?

Sometimes it just goes bad. Other times the screw inside the valve loosens...unbolt it (3 10mm bolts and a hose) and make sure the screw inside is tightened all the way in.

If that doesnt work, either replace it or just bypass it.
