Hi Everyone. I'm in the process of switching to the 'dark side' and recently won an auction on ebay for a set of Recaros. Before I send the guy any money I wanted professional consultation on the authentication of the seats....so I'm asking the pros out there in Type RRRRRR land.

for that price you could have gotten jdm recaro's close to brand new condition!. but i guess if you like brand new stuff that is cool too since you have the money, hey why not. just look at that guys feedback, seems like he is selling authentic stuff. not like he has (0) or (1) feedback, which is usually fake or someone that will just keep your money.

 

for one thing those arent jdm recaros as mentioned in your title.

Those recaro speeds look exactly like the ones I got but I have nardo material.

My seats had the same exact tag when I got them from Recaro. So thats a good sign.

 

Well, I don't know about authentication on the US SRD seats,

But my DC5R recaros are in Suede like Alcantara material, Says Recaro on the sides near the Triangle Adjuster Made in W. Germany and on the bottom there is a Tag that says Recaro or something like that. If you see it in person, the Recaro Quality is unmistakenable.

Good luck with the seats, BTW, what kind of rails/sliders are you planning on using?

 

looks like a sound purchase to me i've seen this seat in person, and i was pretty impressed. its not the exact recaro that comes standard in the japanese-market-only itr/ctr with the alcantara sides and familiar itr bouncy material in the middle, but the regular fabric ones that are available from recaro are pretty durable in my opinion.

i think the ones you bought with the red-stitching are a limited run too, so thats a plus. not everything has to be jdm. i paid more for my red jdm ones a while back, but your "US version" are brand-new, so its a great buy for a very comfortable seat... congrats

 

Those are real recaoros, but they are not JDM recaros with alcantra bolsters. The ad does not mention that they come with the brackets and sliders. so add in another 400$ for that. you can purchase the brackets (and seats) from speedware:

well i guess you bid and won the item. those are authentic US recaro's srd's... but they are NOT JDM RECARO'S by anymeans. as per auction states.

 

if they don't come w/ brackets...I'd say thats bad news.

they are def Recaro's....but JDM recaro's you could have got for another $200+ brackets.

But to each his own.

My ***** gotta match...I'm real **** when it comes to fabric/lighting,etc matching factory stuff.Thats why I sprung for the JDM's

I think you can buy the rails on ebay or just wait around in the classifieds for them. They should not be as expensives as the prices qouted so far. But like everyone has stated that are definitely not JDM recaro's, the word should have been smaller.

 

I've spoken with the guy that I bought the seats from. He's going to sell me the brackets and sliders, both seats for $250.00.

i have jdm itr dc2/eg recaro rails for $235. let me know if you want them. its for both the driver and the passenger side.

 

My red-stitched SRDs never came with that tag. I got mine direct from Mark at On Track. http://www.recaro-seats.com

 

Make sure you can return this item since bracket made in US by
wedge aren't so good in fitment and quality with Universal Recaros.
True JDM ITR oem ones fits like a glove. My set:

Wedge brackets fit fine. Lower than OEM seats on the lowest setting. They bolt right in with minor Dremel work.

 

Minor dremel is key. I feel that they shouldn't require any work at all otherwise it would be a great product.
