Zillions of possibilities...

Dragging brakes?
Low tire pressure?
Fouled spark plugs?
Misfiring from bad plug wires?
Bad suspension alignment?
Bad FPR?
Bad O2 sensor?
Plugged cat?
Spark timing way off?
Bad oil pressure?
Auto tranny messed up?
Mice living in exhaust pipe?
etc...

Very important one...
Wash and wax your car. And don't forget to Armour-all the tires.

I'm pretty sure they are not living in the exhaust pipe. Not if it's getting bad mileage. But they could be eating the wiring under the dash

I think the biggest loss of fuel economy is the loose nut behind the steering wheel

Putting the pedel to the floor after every stop could do it.

not

and yes, there was this one guy who asked about this. i pointed out to him that the dirty tires and wheels had the greatest impact on performance since they go round and round and round when the car is moving thus causing friction
