Default will rota slip streams help out???

whats up. well i just got a set of black 15" rota slipstreams. i was rock n the stock 14" steelies b4. i was wondering how much do the stock steelies weigh? like 15 lbs? the rota weigh in at 13 lbs i think. how much of a difference down the 1/4 mile will this make? nothing really right? maybe .1 second difference? 0-60 ft times should increase?
well this setup will defintely be better than what i had b4. my tires were bald as **** the last time i took it to the track. still pulled off a semi decent 2.3 sec 0-60 on my LS with only I/E

the rims wont change a damn thing. perhaps if u would invest in decent tires then yes you will notice the change in 60 foot times

falken ziex 512 are supposedly good for their price (~$70) as well as kumho ecsta supra 712 (~$70). search them, i've heard many good things about both

he said he wanted it to be lighter...azenis tires are heavy as hell, those huge tread blocks and thick sideways aren't light...my kumhos are feather light compared to my friends azenis'...i was readin somewhere that they dyno tested stock tires vs azenis tires and they lost i think 3whp, i know thats not alot but when tring to save weight there is no point in adding it, but they do grip good

I have been running 15" Slips with 205/50's for 5 months, or the rainy season in Florida and I'll give props to the ZIEX-512's; I got mine for $60 each through Discounttiredirect.com with free shipping. The tires grip like no other, they have a very nice treadwear, and the wet weather handling is also great. I do think they may be a little heavy though, but the 15+ tire is still lighter and wider then my old 13"+ stock setup.

Stock 14" steelies weigh in the 20-22 lb range, at least the 14x5 steelies on my old Camry did.

For $250 you can get 195/50-15 Yokohama AVS ES100's, which are slightly smaller diameter than stock, which will help acceleration because it effectively raises the final drive ratio. That's what I have on my stock GS-R wheels and I definitely noticed a difference in acceleration.

so instead you should get a light tire with no tread and sloppy sidewalls?

anyway my konigs are like 11 lbs (heliums), thats a 4lb savings per wheel over my stock mesh wheels. might not seem like alot but they make a difference.

as far as tires go yeah azenis are heavy but they are just about the best street tires you can buy and they are dirt cheap too! a better tire value simply doesnt exsist....

azenis! ur not going to find a better all around grip for the money. they arent the "Greatest" drag tire in the world but hey thats cause they are "Street" tires. if u wanna seriously drag race buy some slicks, untill then stick with the all around grip. its not going to hurt u in drag racing to have 4 pounds unless ur seriously into dragin. keep it street but on the track.
