Default Recommend non-HID for '00 Accord Projectors?

I have black housing projectors on my accord and i want to buy a good set of bulbs to to set 'em off. I think the bulb code is something like 9005 or 9006, but the thing is, is that the headlamp manufacturer recommends halogen or xenon, and does NOT recommend HIDs. So does anyone recommend or know of a decent set of white bulbs thatll work with my setup? Im coming home from college for the weekend, so id rather find something i can pick up, as opposed to ordering online. Can i find what im looking for at wal-mart/pep boys/autozone etc?

sylvania silverstars...around $40 for two bulbs...i believes its the closest thing you can get to HIDs without actually going with HIDs. you can find these bulbs at either walmart or any other auto place most likely. HID stands for High Intensity Discharge, in case you didn't know. its a different bulb completely, but there are other things that are different that are needed to power the bulb such as the ballasts, which i believe deliver something like 6Kv ~ 12Kv. i forget exactly, but its a lot. so yeah, they wouldn't work heh. hope this helps!

low beams take a 9006. but you can modify the 9005 high beam bulb to fit. you'll get a shitload more light if you do

link is for a bmw but it works the same for us.

Thanks for the help. Heres the kind of projectors im using. I dont remember them coming with bulbs when i put them in a while ago, so im pretty sure they are using the stock 9005 and 9006, and not some special bulb. I guess i could always take the bulb out and walk into the store with it if i had to. I think that the only lights they came with were the LEDs for the 'halo angeleyes', but they started flickering and going out! And cant replace those!

the thing with those projectors, is the projector itself... it scatters the light eveyrwhere.

I have some Farenheit bulbs for my low beams and they are definately alot better than stock. I don't know how long they will last though because I have only had them about a week. They are a little brighter than stock and they are white unlike the yellowish stock ones. They have a much cleaner light. If you want the ricer blue bulbs these arnt for you as they are white not blue. So far I highly reccomend them. I have also used Eurolite Super Plasma ones and they are great while they work but I tried 2 sets and both burnt out withing 2 months so I would stay away from them. Although my high beams have lasted well over a year and still running stong. *knock on wook*. I have also heard great things about the silver stars as a guy earlier reccomended.

It doesnt matter what bulbs you sue for those projectors cuz eitehr way they'll suck. Its in the bad projectors that gives off teh bad light. Only way of making them better is to retro them with higher end projectors. All in all those already projector made housings look nice but the projector themselves suck. You're **** out of luck man. Just try to aim the lights so you can see enough through the night.

get some real JDM blackhousing headlights...or get some OEM and paint them yourself...what legendary is saying is that the projectors suck, heh. the material sucks therefore the light output will suck regardless of what bulb you stick in there.

low beam = h3
high beam = h1

Those kind of projector sucks. The output on those projectors are like driving with fog lights on. Unless you are doing a retro fit on those I wouldn't bother with them.

I Bought the TYC for my 01' and the projectors suck ***. I was using HID through them. I'm now in the process of swaping them out for some BOSCH. There just isn't any distance on the halogen.

bought the 9006 sylvania silverstars and took them home and realized that they wouldnt work with my projectors. theyre made as a bulb and housing unit that esentially plug right into the the stock housing which is different from my projector housing. i dont know what kind of bulbs to buy that will fit my projectors ah well... good thing i didnt open the silverstars and was able to get my $40 back.

Hey RedneckDave

Are those your headlights? What car are those projectors from? I was thinking about getting it done but I really rather pay someone that knows what they are doing.
