91 Accord head gasket.
Hey Just wondering how many of you have had to replace a head gasket. My son's car is overheating and burning white smoke. I haven't done any further investigation into the motor, just seems like a pretty straight forward answer with those symptoms.
What would people suggest for the next steps. I don't have the tools or really the the time to try and fix. How easy are parts to find for this job. Costs would likely exceed the value of the car. Are their crate motor swaps available?
Thanks for your input.
Mike

Whit smoke is water or anti-freeze...........
Most likely, the car overheated initially and the deck or head is not "square/" You would have to remove the head and inspect those surfaces with a precision straight edge. Sorry! -- Putting a head gasket on a non-square surface "will not do." Since you would have to pay someone to do this work for you, I would suggest an upgrade to another ride, but do the research and math for yourself to know for sure given your own likes and preferences.
That's my take ....Others??
