WTH?! Im no pro but I've never seen this
Hey guys/gals. I have a 2012 Pilot that I pent to a family member and just got it back. I understand it had some issues with the battery cables so I checked under the hood and saw this. Something doesnt look right! Forgive my ignorance but am I going to have to replace the terminal ends? Also what is the cable going from the upper left into the fuse box called?
I have a splice repair kit but the small lead that comes off is a smaller gauge than what's coming from that fuse box. That won't work. Can I clip that off or is it just better to replace terminals and whatever wire that's called to the fuse box?

This is a MAJOR pet peeve of mine. I have a friend that the first thing he does when a car won't start, is cut off the ends of the battery cables and put on those junky temporary (get you out of a bind when you are broke down on the side of the road), battery terminals. They are not meant for a permanent install. He always has electrical problems, always. I would be livid if someone did that to my car.
There are ways to fix it. But if it was my car. I would buy new or used factory OEM cables.
I think these are the parts you need for a 2012 Pilot:
Positive cable from battery to starter:
32410-SZA-A00 _____ $100-150 brand new from dealership
Negative cable from battery to chassis ground:
32600-SZA-A00 _____ $20-35 brand new from dealership
