How can I permanently disable 2019 CR-V Collision Mitigation Braking System CMBS ?
I'm hoping someone out there has the answer to this CMBS sensor. I am looking to find out how to permanently disable the sensor. Is there a safe way to go in and just cut the wire to the sensor or something similar? I recently added a grill guard to my CR-V which of course sets the Collision Mitigation Braking System sensor off almost immediately as I am driving down the road. Even before I had the grill guard it would detect something that wasn't there from time to time and either alert me with the bright BRAKE display flashing on my dash or sometimes it would also tap on the brakes itself. Either way it's a danger. Yes it can be temporarily turned off but once the car is started again it automatically turns back on. If I forget to turn it off the car will remind me when I am driving down the road and the breaks stop the car abruptly all by itself. Definitely not a fun or safe situation. There has to be a solution to disabling it permanently. Everyone I talk to isn't sure of how to disable it, has the same issue I do, or like the dealership says there is no way to do it. I just find that hard to believe when its a little sensor in the grill of the car. Also if all the other sensors are always shut off till you turn them on then why would this one be the one that never stays off? All I'm finding online are complaints and lawsuits against the CMBS but no answers on how to solve it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unplug the camera or the “millimeter wave radar”.
As you can see there’s quite a lot of CAN circuits so cutting will cause nothing but problems. Maybe you could do something with the CMBS off switch in the top pic, perhaps keep the circuit grounded?
Unplugging the millimeter wave radar probably will disable it. Installation of the grill guard is probably partially blocking or interfering with the millimeter wave radar and causing the issue.
I have had the same CMBS issues as described above with my 2021 CR-V for the past 18 months. I recognize these posts are almost 6 yrs old and perhaps there is some fix out there that wasn't available back then.
Dealerships are no help. I have read alot of the on-line feedback regarding this same CMBS. I am a semi-techy person. Any help would be extremely appreciated.
