Default Wheel and tire sizing help

I've been restoring an EF hatch and finally coming round to the wheels and tires. The car is white with black bumpers and so i want to go with white wheels ideally something like Volk TE37s. The hatch has no power steering so i don't want a big thick tire if it's going to make turning even harder. I'm thinking a 15 inch rim but do i want to consider less than a 7inch width, will that be too skinny? I haven't rolled the fenders and don't really want to so what is the max offset i can go with without hitting the fender? Can anyone suggest a good wheel and tire size combo at an offset that will look good without the need for rolling?

Also, i'm in Canada so any suggestions on where to buy would be great, i tried looking up white 15x7 wheels on ebay.com (not.ca) and there really was very little selection to choose from.

15x6.5 is the standard aftermarket 15" size. oems 15's are 6", but theyre always skinnier.

going to a 15x7 is no big deal. but no need to go any wider, if you could find a wider wheel. you can fit a 205 wide tire. 225 is when youll start to rub.

dont worry about not having power steering, you learn to adapt and drive a bit differently, as long as youre moving slightly forward or backward you can move the steering wheel fine.

Thanks, i might go with 15x6.5 in that case, i had some big wide tires on my corolla and its a much nicer driving experience with the stock thinner wheels. Do you have any info on the maximum offset i can use before i'll rub?

i did a search and theres plenty of good information still out there. the lower the offset, the wider it will stick out.

I might take them off my corolla and give them a go, i'm not sure if they'll be ok though, also not sure what the offset is on those rims.
