Default Shes got the shakes!

1996 Honda Accord Ex 2.2L Coupe over 200,000 miles!

I have replaced everything on my front end in hopes of relieving this intermittent shake. Any speed above 60 is guaranteed to cause the steering wheel to shake and omost everytime I press the brakes the steering wheel shakes pretty darn good. The front rotors both have just below .002 of runout and are only a couple months old also don't have have any brake pedal pulsations. The hubs have .001 or less runout...
I mention intermittent shake because opposite of the speed shake the brake shake sometimes doesnt occur mainly at high speeds or around 45-55 decelerating. The only thing I can think of that hasnt been replaced is the transaxle.. Does this sound like something that could be cause from a high mileage transaxle that slightly grinds in 5th..

Are you sure the bearings and all other suspension parts are tight and in good working order? I had a 1994 i bought a few years ago that had worn outer tire rid ends that made a healthy shake at speed.

Yes I have replaced the front one but the engine doesnt really torque unusually when revved. I figured if any others where bad it would be apparent but they all have about the same movements.

You might just need your wheels rebalanced or an alignment. Shakes like you are describing are more commonly attributed to those two things.

f it isn't the tire balance or bad rotors, it might be one or both tie rod ends, a worn ball joint, etc. The symptom sounds a lot more like suspension system than engine mounts to me. Watch Scotty Kilmer's YouTube videos on "How to check out your own car's suspension system"

all old bushings/mounts are likely done by now.
the lower front torque mounts were my problem.
since i didnt have a pot to **** in at the time i got
a couple tubes of dow u-428 window weld and
filled in the old mounts, works great if u r cheap as hell lol. 8)
