00 Civic Automatic D4 Blinking cannot Figure it Out
Hey Guys My Sister Has a 2000 Civic DX Sedajn...Has 176,000 Miles...Automatic...Fluid was always changed with Honda ATF...DRIVE 4 Is Blinking and throwing Codes P1298 P1768
.Just Recently Started Knocking i Replaced Block....Never Removed Transmission And Once i Got it Back Together & Drove it for a Week & it ran Great and shifted Great No Signs of Any Sliping or anything...
After that Week I Gave Car Back to Her...She was driving in The Snow and Slide off Road Driver Side Hit Pole & It Broke Head Light and Pushed a/c Rad Into Header Etc....It Really Didnt Crush No Harness ...After That Impact She Had to Drive it Home In 2nd And it will Not Down Shift its Self and its Blinking D4...Didnt Have Any Problems or Codes Before impact...
So I Fixed All The Front End Damage & Made Sure No Harness Was Crushed or Anything....So Here I Am Things Ive Done to Try to Address This Issue...(Note) PLEASE WRITE ANY INFO OR ANYTHING YOU THINK....THANKS IN ADVANCE
CHANGED
Changed Out Lock Out Solenoid
Restart Battery & Cleaned All Grounds
Checked All Fluids
Removed All Transmission Plugs & Looked At Alll Pins and wires to make sure nothing broken
Changed ECU Out For a Known Good One
Swaped out or changed All Sensors on Transmission Execpt for The Counter /Main Shaft VSS & The Big 3 wire VSS
QUESTIONS
Could it be The ELD?
Is There a Auto trans ecu or some kinda box could cause this
Could it Be In the Shift Box Because its hard to get out of part kinda like alll

Could be a simple replacing a vehicle speed sensor or to a major repair like replacing the transmission (clogged filter/screen, clutch, etc.). The transmission is not throwing a code?

Does everything else on the car work, especially the brake lights and the horn? Crashing the front is very likely to short out the horn, which is on the same fuse as the brake lights. That fuse is under the hood.
I think this is still like the 90's automatics where the first 3 gears are entirely mechanical (including mechanical kick-down command from the throttle cable)-- the computer is only involved in shifting to OD and locking the torque converter.

.
2000 Honda Civic LX Sedan I'm Getting Codes P1298 & P1768 I have a 2000 Honda Civic LX Sedan - Automatic Transmission I'm Getting Codes P1298 & P1768...D4 Is Blinking.
My OBD scanner Reads:
P1768 - Clutch Pressure Control (Linear) Solenoid Valve A Failure
P1298 - ELD High Voltage
I have already replace The Main Relay & The Vechicle Computer Once I have already replace The Linear,Shift, Inter Lock Solenoids 3 Times & also the Electric Load detector Once.
I have reset the vehicle computer numerous times but still I'm Getting Codes P1298 & P1768...D4 light Is Blinking.
I Didn't Check or Looked At The Wire Harness Wires & Pins to see if they were ok.
I spoke with someone that told me the problem could be a short ,wire harness or something not making a ground connection or worst case scenario replace the transmission.
My son drove the car yestarday and he call me let me know that D4 light stop blinking but check engine light is still on and the car drove just fine until my son got to his destination. when my son put the car in park and then into D4, The D4 Light starting blinking again and the vehicle began the drive crap like again.
The vehicle starts and idles just fine The vehicle in reverse is ok When I Shift the vehicle like manual the car run fine I shift from Park into Reverse or from Park into D4 I get a harsh jerk.
When I turn the igntion switch to on without starting the vehicle , I would say about 2-3 seconds I can hear a small thump coming from the front right passenger side. I don't know if its coming from the car computer ,main relay or fuse box under the hood.
7.5A dash fusebox 15 isn't blown
No cylinder misfire
The vehicle was shootin inter lock sloeniod code and all o2 sensors code but they are all gone now.
The Transmission doesn't slip Only codes I can't get rid of are P1298 & P1768 before I replace the transmission, I'm thinking of replacing the wire harness of the car and the fuse box under the hood.
The Crazy Part About This Situation That as I'm About Post This My Son calls me to let me know that D4 light stop Blinking again but check engine light is on and car is driving great again.
My son notice that when D4 light stops blinking and that the vehicle starts to act up again after putting car in park and shifting back the vehicle From Park into D4.
Any help or idea to help me narrow down my problem of my car would be graciously appreciated & Thanks in Advance.

Had a similar issue, forgot what the tech said was the issue. Yea the car drove like it was still in 1st gear. Which harness are you referring to? Firewall harness (connects the engine bay fusebox to everything else) or the engine harness (connects engine sensors and transmission sensors to the ecu and car)?

P1768 - Troubleshoot the linear solenoid on the transmission
P1298 is not a transmission code. Is dash fuse 15 blown?

no #15 isn't blown. I've Checked, Double checked & Rechecked all fuses in the dash and in the fuse box under hood all fuses are good.
