Yup. The few times I've watched a bit of a race I always mute the sound. Cannot stand Tracy and Miller is an agry old man pissed off at the world cause no one takes Indycar seriously anymore.

Dog fights make better and more exciting racing. A pass or two here and there is no different than everyone holding put and "fuel saving" (i feel stupid even typing that when talking about F1). Constant position changes from all sections of the field and constant pressure is what we want.

I think that's why I prefer sports car racing. All of the various sections of the field are always battling it out. But then again, those cars are also closely regulated and spec'd out to make it that way.

Although I admit lately the performance has been limited by the tyre regulations.

have a seat young man *pats knee*
Grooved tires came about as away to maintain the width of the cars, but remove some of the grip. The idea was to slow the cars down in the corners.
I'm not too clear on why the FIA outlawed tire changes in 2005, but I think it had to do with 5 straight titles from Ferrari. They were clearly on top of their game and the regs so the rulebook was tossed out the window.
Who's ready for s'mores?

The grooved tires were introduced in 1998, the same year the cars went from 2m width to 1.8m which is the same width as an F3 car.

See for yourself...
Alonso is about to take the 2005 title, ending the reign of the GOAT. Also the last race for the Jordan and Minardi teams.
Future world champion, Nico Rosberg is hanging out in the Williams garage...

Schumacher, the son of seven-time world champion Michael, is stepping up to the European Formula 3 Championship this season with Prema. Mercedes has already been linked with a potential move to sign up the 17-year-old to its young driver programme, and now Ferrari has said it too would like to have him as part of its Ferrari Driver Academy.

Tech analysis: Why Honda backtracked on its size-zero concept
Just 2 lines but it gives me hope for not just Honda but all non Merc PUs in 2017 as being able to redesign errything is key to catching the Mercs
Having condemned its own direction in 2015, the Japanese marque could do little to change its fortunes in 2016 and instead focused on a complete overhaul of the power unit's architecture for 2017.
A separate working group was established to work on the 2017 power unit, initially in parallel with its ongoing 2016 exploits, but as the season progressed more resources were channelled into the new design.
