Default Help, car won't start...won't turn over or even click

Well...everything seemed perfect before this happened. It started right away all the time and never required multiple tries to start it up. Now when I try to start my car, the engine won't even turn over and the starter makes no sounds at all. All the lights on the dash clears, cels, oil, etc. I searched but I got one more question that wasn't brought up. It's that when I try to start it, the ABS light stays on but turns off once I stop trying to start it. Is this this normal for that light to be on while trying to start it? The ABS light doesn't stay on, only when trying to fire it up, could this be the problem why it wont start or is this just normal? thanks for any helpful info

Also I searched and found that the following could be problem

Main Relay...I heard even with a bad relay, the car can be push started. So should I try to push start it to see if it'll start?

Battery, I doubt it tho cuz everything works, lights, fans, etc. Also it's not that its cranking slow, its not cranking at all or make any clicking sounds from the starter area.

Grounding, im not sure where to check but everything seems clean and connected

Cap and Rotor, but wont the engine at least turn over or the starter at least make some sound?

Starter solenoid, ?

starter, ? I think its either this or the solenoid or whatever that is but not sure how to check and what to do

If you are not sure what you are doing..... take it to a shop. It either sounds like your starter (the solonoid is a part inside the starter motor) or your battery.

The main relay would not be the prob. 1. it is usually when it is hot outside.... 2. your car would crank..... the relay just wouldn't allow the fuel pumo to get gas to the engine. 3. You can not push start your car if it is the main relay (see #2).

If your battery is fine..... you can use jumper cables from the battery to the starter and see if it cranks.... if not your starter is shot or your engine is siezed.

I would just take it to a shop..... won't take them long to diagnose.

update: my dad's friends who are mechanics are at my house right now are checking it out. They somehow start the car from under the hood. So its definately not the starter itself or the battery. It's just some electrical issue I think. I think something about a the clutch switch?? anybody know any info about this?

Well, it could be the ignition switch...... there is a recall for some 5th gens (mainly 1997, 1998), but Honda has good will recalls for safety issues (which that is).

I should have caught that b4..... sorry. It does sounds like the ignition switch. Try jiggling the key as you try to start it..... What EXACTLY do the lights do on the dash when you try to start it?

I had a similar issue. It turned out to be a stuck starter solenoid. I lightly hit it with a wrench. It fired up with no problems.

The lights are normal except that the ABS light stays on as long as your trying to start the engine up, but once you stop trying and the key is back to the "on" position then it'll turn off, or is this just normal.

Update: Its nothing mechanical under the hood for sure. Also, I had wires burning up under the dash. It even made the whole interior smoke up. So its gotta be the ignition or some kind of electrical problem. Damn, I wish it was just the damn starter.

I talked to people I know about shops and stuff and most said that they're not sure if they'll be able to figure it out. The dealership can prolly figure it all out and fix it. But that means bending over and getting fucked by them in terms of price.

Take it to an electrical shop if a normal shop isn't sure.
