Is it solid?

There are two hollow cylinders about that size that align the head with the block. They fit in two of the front (exhaust side) head bolt holes. Put them in the block (they go in halfway) then push the head gasket down over them to hold the gasket in position, then put the head on. The bolt of course goes through the hollow center.

If it is solid you should ask them where it came from. I think it may have something to do with the VTEC in the rocker arms, but I've never taken one apart that far.

yes it is solid. Small also. If you are describing the dowel pins that’s not what it is

unless it’s used in conjunction with them. But didn’t see it when I took the head before. Only after

Look through a Honda parts catalog for your car. Bet you can find where it goes that way.

It is a VTEC rocker arm pin... so check all of your rocker arms and see which one is missing the pin. If there is more than one missing... contact the machine shop and find the rest. If even ONE of these is missing when the engine is assembled, VTEC will NOT work.

Thanks for the help guys. Was able to pull the assembly off and the first thing I noticed was a big empty spot. It was this one right here. Really appreciate the help guys. None of the others seem to be missing
